About Us

Passionate about providing the right garden to suit your lifestyle

We will work with you to provide a quality, friendly and professional service to help you enjoy your unique piece of nature. We take an organic and sustainable approach to our services, working on the principle that our gardens are shared with the wildlife around us. With that in mind, we lean towards native species and plants that attract and feed pollinators.

What We Do
Planting

We will test your soil to establish what soil type you have, as this can greatly affect what can grow there successfully. Light levels, exposure and drainage are all important factors we will consider. We will then provide you with our recommended planting suggestions, in keeping with your style, tastes and colour schemes.

Maintenance

We provide maintenance services throughout the year, including mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, plant care, holiday watering and general tidying. We offer one off or regularly scheduled visits.

Landscaping

Wild Moss are horticultural specialists, working with all things living in your garden. If you have had a design created by us which includes a decking or patio area, we will arrange for a reputable contractor to install the hard landscaping.

Co-Growing

Our co-growing service is designed to keep gardening accessible to those who still enjoy it but face limitations for whatever reason. We will work alongside you to provide solutions and the right level of support, It may be installing raised beds to wheelchair height, doing the digging while you do the planting - whatever we can do to help you keep your hands dirty.

Houseplants

For those who like to bring the outdoors indoors, we provide a care service and recommendations for houseplants. Repotting, propagating, watering, care advice, anything you need to keep your Sansevierias super, Pothos poppin’ and Monsteras magical.

Rewilding

At Wild Moss, we are passionate about rewilding and supporting biodiversity. If you have an unused patch of land or garden, we will come and sow native wildflower seeds to feed the bees and other pollinating insects. Please note that this service is only available March to May, which is the best time to sow wildflower seeds.

Had Jonny round to prune a tricky corkscrew hazel in our garden, highly recommended if you're looking for a skilled gardener as he did a superb job.

Jonny completed some tidying up work for us in our back garden including removing a problematic hollybush. He was very responsive to messages and punctual with appointments.

Who is the person behind Wild Moss Gardens?

That's Jonny, he's been gardening for over 10 years. He enjoys growing fruits and vegetables in his allotment garden - his favourites are strawberries (that is, if his kids don’t get to them first).

What is the planting process?

For planting we charge £50 for a garden visit, soil testing, micro-climate assessment and a list of recommended plants which suit your taste, colour scheme and garden style. The cost of the planting service is dependent on the number and type of plants you want. What we can guarantee, is that you will only be charged cost price for the plants and you only pay for time and labour of the planting, charged at £20 per hour.

How frequent are your maintenance visits?

Maintenance visits are scheduled bi weekly for half a day (four hours dependant on size of garden and complexity of planting). Due to demand, there will soon be a waiting list for maintenance so please get in touch immediately if this is something you are considering.

I only need some odd jobs doing, is that something you would consider?

Absolutely, we will undertake small jobs on an ad hoc basis for a minimum fee of 90 minutes. All details will be discussed over the phone or by message before we attend the job. Please contact us through social media or Whatsapp with pictures of your job and we'll be in touch soon.

What is Co-Growing?

Co-Growing is our way of keeping people in the gardens they love for as long as possible. The service is charged at £50 for 2 hours and the variety of tasks depends entirely on the person we are co-growing with. Beyond that there is an additional hourly rate of £20 per hour. Ask us about our OAP and Disability discount for 1st time customers.

Thank you! Your message has been received and someone will be in touch soon.
